PRESS: Uniqlo to reduce number of outlets in Russia
MOSCOW, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- Japanese clothes retailer Uniqlo is cutting the number of outlets in Russia, business daily Vedomosti reported on Friday.
"Uniqlo has notified the staff about preparation of several suspended stores for a full shutdown,” a manager said.
“The retailer summoned the managers to some of them to collect goods from the showcases and prepare them for removal."
Two retail property consultants said that the company is closing its outlets mainly in the regions.
The number of Uniqlo shops decreased to 48 at the end of September from 50 in March, according to the official website.
